Fistful Of Charms

I'm Nobody

Was...this a store? Your eyes roam over the bookshelves that lined the rough stone walls, filled to almost bursting with haphazardly placed books and rolls of parchment. Stacks of more books (teetering dangerously close to falling to the floor) stood at the base of these shelves as if someone had started with the intention of shelving them but had given up halfway. Gingerly you step through the threshold and quickly realize that you had to mind your footing. Not only were there stray rolls of parchment on the floor but a variety of odds and ends as well. Rolls of mangled textiles, moldy leather, and what looked like bone fragments in a basket, were just some of the things spread across the floor like odd carpeting. Luckily the interior that you had found yourself in was well lit even though there wasn't an open flame in sight (thankfully). Glowing pocket baubles scattered in heaps in random corners throughout the room mingled with the phosphorescence of strange coral. The lighting threw all sorts of odd lighting over the walls and the floor, and you find yourself drawn to the cauldron that sat on a strange bronze cube in the center of the room.

"Don't fall in. Spots and stripes could be the least of your worries." Catching only a glimpse of yellow feathers sticking out of the sluggish silver muck, your attention zeros in on a figure in the shadows. As the male Au Ra steps into the low light, it's a wonder how he hadn't been spotted right away. Tall and broad-shouldered, he is a textbook example of his race, with dusky scales marking him as a Xaela. Perhaps he would have looked intimidating if not for the sheepish smile tugging the corners of his lips upwards.

"I'm kidding. It's harmless." He moves as if to take a step forward but stutters to a halt realizing that he shouldn't progress further into the light. At his hips, there is another glint of silver, this time the wicked edge of twin Chakrams. "Look..." The Au Ra is obviously uncomfortable now, his golden gaze flicking this way and that. "Noone's supposed to be back here. If you could wait for me outside. I'll be with you in a moment."

Delger Usui @ Coeurl

Who are you?

Name: Delger Qestir Usui
Age: 24
Race: Au Ra (Xaela)
Birthplace: Kugane
Hair color: Green
Eye color: Orange-yellow with black limbral rings.
Build: Broad-shouldered, usually towering over others. Delger leads an active lifestyle as evidenced by his fit physique and calloused hands.
Orientation: Bisexual (male leaning)
Occupation: Odds and ends. Is a member of a handful of Eorzean crafting and gathering guilds.
Combat job: Dancer

Personality: Aloof and soft-spoken, Delger doesn't come across as all too confident unless he has one of the tools of his (various) trades in his hand. He is slow to warm up to people though that does not mean that he is openly antagonistic towards others. Usually, he'll attempt jokes but is too uneasy to follow them through.

Though he was not born and raised on the Steppe, Delger was still raised Qestir and that means that every word he speaks is a lie. It's nothing personal nor malicious it's just what he believes. And yes, it also means that he thinks everyone around him is lying as well when they talk, which is an odd way to exist to be sure.

Delger will look at your deeds as a way to size you up and will also let his actions speak on his behalf

History: (Just a bullet list for now)

- Born in Kugane, Delger was something of a feral child. The family lived in a small shophouse on the edges of the Kogane Dori. His parents posed as merchants while he spent his time with his face pressed up against the windows of various guild houses watching the apprentices go about their business. He'd be thrown scraps that he called his little treasures and has a good impression of crafters ever since.

- His parents left Kugane when he was 18. They did not bring him along as they wanted him to decide his life for himself. After irresponsibly spending all of the money they left him. He got a job as a dockhand.

- Delger is Echo-blessed. Nothing as dramatic as the WoL and associates, but his Echo manifests as empathy and not as visions. It has only strengthened his belief that all words are lies as he has sensed people lying through their teeth almost his entire life.

- Became a favorite of the merchant he worked for. Followed the man to Thavnair where he picked up alchemy. The merchant encouraged Delger's curiosity and taught him Eorzean letters before sending him off on his way.

ooc note: I will ask to make sure that Del is able to sense any emotions that your character is feeling before rping it.

Are you Nobody too?

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to go through my little calling card. Delger is still very much a work in progress and I'm looking forward to exploring and expanding his character through roleplay. I'm very new to roleplaying on FFXIV but have been roleplaying on other formats for around six years or so.

Feel free to walk up or send a tell to rp. I enjoy paragraph roleplay but will do my best to match my partner's writing/emote style. Interested in all types of roleplay encounters be it friendly or antagonistic.

I am 21+ and open to darker or mature rp themes as well though I will only engage in such with players that are 21+.

Please hit me up on discord, listed below, if you'd like to plot or plan out backstories or would just like to chat.
